If you found yourself thinking,India "Who is this woman that's randomly picking a fight with New Zealand?" during Thursday night's Democratic presidential debate, you're not alone.

It was Marianne Williamson, for the record. She is a self-help author and a spiritual advisor to Oprah, among other things. She may not have been the biggest name on the debate stage in Miami, but she was... the most eccentric.

While the evening was largely a masterclass in smacking down Joe Biden, Williamson's answers had a totally different vibe that seemed wholly out of place. She at times struggled to get a word in against the other nine candidates, but when she did speak she certainly left an impression.

She is big in the New Age world (and seems also to be skirting around the edges of anti-vaxxer territory), but many people were convinced that she's got some kind of mystical powers.

Others were confused by her seeming desire to beat New Zealand in the non-existent competition for best country.

And others spotted her potential to move into a role on HBO's Big Little Lies.

She apparently did use to be Laura Dern's roommate, so she probably has a far better chance of ending up on Big Little Liesthan in the White House.
