Brie Larson, the star of the upcoming Captain Marvel, used her sizable Twitter following for good by starting a thread for people who wanted to buy Black Panthertickets for anyone who couldn't afford them. Using the #payitforward hashtag, she started coordinating between those seeking to help, and those who didn't have the means for a ticket.

Very quickly, the post started receiving widespread traction. People from Atlanta to South Africa were offering to buy tickets and then coordinating through Twitter DMs. Even actress and filmmaker Haley Webb got involved.

Brie Larson is set to star in her own Marvel movie next year, on March 6th 2019. Captain Marvel will be the first in the franchise with a standalone female lead, so it's only fitting that Larson is being so supportive of the cinematic universe's first black superhero as well.

Earlier in the month, Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer proposed buying out theaters "to ensure that all our brown children can see themselves as a superhero." We hope that Brie Larson's show of solidarity with Spencer's efforts is just the beginning of a larger trend.

Black Pantherpremiered on Thursday, Feb 15 to a jaw-dropped $25.2 million box office, as well as spectacular costumes and celebrations from eager movie-goers. The groundbreaking blockbuster is already on track to break records for Marvel movie sales.
